How Articles Help Your Website to Achieve High Search Engine Rankings
Some people think that to get your website up there on the first page of Google,
high in the stratosphere of search engine ranking, requires the intellect of a
rocket scientist or the finesse of a brain surgeon. This couldn't be further
from the truth. What it requires is persistence and patience, both of which can
be found in all of us!Google produces millions of pages listing websites every day, providing information to the general public. The most important thing for Google is to make sure that this information is helpful to the general public who seek it. If it wasn't, the public would leave Google and look elsewhere. So Google has invented a complicated formula, based on common sense for what's known as their search engine ranking, to weed out rubbish and promote only those sites they reckon the general public will find interesting.
There are two main ingredients they have thrown into the cooking pot of many ingredients that makes up the Google formula.
The first is the popularity of a particular site. If other, more established sites than yours, think your site is a good one, then they may well mention your site on their own as a recommendation to visit it. So if you have a website called 'Rare Fruit Imports' and you can get the National Fruit & Vegetable Board to place a link back to your website, then Google will find this link, and look on your website favourably. The more links it finds the higher up on its results pages you will find your website. It will give you a high search engine ranking.
The second, equally important ingredient, is the judicious use of keywords. What
you really want to promote on your site is the fantastic new square orange you
are importing. You want everyone to land on your 'square orange' page and buy
some. So if your link on the National Fruit & Vegetable Board website also
contains several mentions of a 'square orange' and other associated fruits such
as 'straight bananas' and 'round cucumbers', than Google will give your website
even more prominence in their search engine ranking.
This is where online Articles show their strength; the people at Google reckon that relevant, genuine Articles on important websites, which have links pointing back to yours, must mean that the important websites think your site is a valuable commodity.
The more relevant Articles you have showing up on different websites in the SAME theme as yours, then the more backlinks you are generating. Each article is usually allowed two backlinks that point to your website. These links back to your website are normally shown in the author's 'Resource Box', for Articles that are posted onto Article Directories.
There are literally thousands of Article Directories on the internet, so hopefully you can now see the potential that is available, for obtaining large numbers of quality themed backlinks to your website by writing and submitting Articles ... and no, you cannot submit the same article to thousands of directories. If Google sees the same article appearing over and over, it will only count ONE instance of backlinks from that article.
This means that each article, of usually around 600 words, must be totally unique content.

You go to www.copyscape.com and run a quick check. You can also use CopyScape to check and see if anyone else has copied your own Articles - a plagiarism check.
