When selecting keywords find your site by, use 2 - 3 word phrases instead of single words.

Just put yourself in the shoes of the searcher.

Let's say you own a Real Estate website in South Dakota. A person searching for real estate, (who actually wants to find results for Real Estate in South Dakota) may well start off by typing in real estate as their search word in the Search Engines.

This would in fact bring up millions of results, as it would be finding the keyword real estate from websites all over the world - not much use if they are specifically looking for property in South Dakota!!! The chances are miniscule of any Realtors from South Dakota appearing in the first 30 listings.

Now if they had typed in real estate South Dakota the results would be much more meaningful for them, as this would list realtors from South Dakota.

So when you choose your 6 Keywords,  for me to search for your site on in the major Search Engines - Make sure that you use 2 - 5 word phrases, that will target your search more precisely. Remember, just put yourself in the searchers shoes.
